Dear ‘Critical Worker’ Parents,
Thank you for requesting a place for your child/children over the coming weeks to allow you to continue working. If you haven’t done so already, please email the school office – firstname.lastname@example.org indicating which days your child/children will be in school. It is important that children only attend when their parents are completing their critical work. If one parent is at home then the child/children should stay at home also. The only reason for us closing is to limit the movement of people and reduce contact with others as much as possible.
During the closure, all class based teachers will be working from home to ensure they can remain focussed on their individual classes. ‘Critical worker’ children will be looked after by teaching assistants who will be supporting the children to complete their online work set by their teachers. On the days when the children are not in school they should continue their learning at home.
The school day will run from 8:45am until 3:20pm. Breakfast Club will be available from 8am and After School Club will be available until 5pm. If you require either of these services please book in the usual way via ParentPay.
For anyone who is not attending breakfast/after school club, please arrive using the one way system between 8:45am and 8:55am and collect in the usual way at 3:20pm. Please ensure that you maintain social distancing and wear a face covering when dropping off and collecting your children.
The children of critical workers will be split into three groups, one for children in EYFS and Year 1, one for children in Year 2 and Year 3 and another group for the children in Year 4, 5 and 6. Please see below for the group locations and where to drop off/collect your children:
|Group 1||Group 2||Group 3|
|EYFS and Year 1||Year 2 and Year 3||Year 4, 5 and 6|
|Year 1 Classroom||Year 3 Classroom||Year 4 Classroom|
When attending school during this period, uniform does not need to be worn. Children should however dress in sensible, comfortable clothing. Please remember that windows and doors will be open as much as possible to allow for good ventilation so please ensure children are suitably dressed in warm layers.
All children should bring their own filled water bottle, fruit snack for playtime, a packed lunch and a warm/waterproof coat.
Children of critical workers who attend school in EYFS, Year 1 or Year 2 are entitled to a free packed lunch. For tomorrow, these children will choose a free ham or cheese packed lunch to eat at lunch time.
The Paddock Wood Kitchen is preparing food parcels for the remainder of the time that parents can make packed lunches from. The parcel will contain: bread, butter, cheese, fruit and yogurt, and will be available for collection at the end of the day tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January.
Food parcels will also be available for all children entitled to free school meals in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 and should be collected tomorrow afternoon also.
Please ensure your child comes to school with their login details for Google Classroom and Times Tables Rockstars (if applicable).
