Parent Update (10th March 2023)

Dear Parents,

Today has been an exciting day with children breaking the rules regarding uniform, chocolate, make-up, hair and toys. I’ve particularly enjoyed seeing the wonderful, colourful hairstyles on show! The money raised from this event will go towards improving playtimes and lunchtimes, something all children will benefit from.

Careers Day

Thank you to the parents who volunteered to come in and support our Careers Day either this week or next. The following careers were covered:

• EYFS & Year 1 – Nursing
• Year 2 – Camera Operation
• Year 3 – Retail Management
• Year 4 – Meteorology
• Year 5 – Management Consultation (sustainability)
• Year 6 – Physiotherapy

Children enjoyed learning about the different jobs and what routes into those careers there are. They also enjoyed the more practical aspects of the presentations and asking some of the parents some very challenging questions! I am hopeful we will hold events like this in the future as we continue to prepare children for their futures and encourage them to aim high.

Parent Consultations – Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th March 2023

Thank you to everyone who has requested an appointment with their child’s class teacher next week. You will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s learning, progress and areas for development. You will also be able to look through their Maths, Skills and Inquiry books and will be informed as to whether your child is working towards, at or above the level of attainment expected for their age.

Children will bring home their appointment times today, so please look out for these in your child’s bag.

Comic Relief – Friday 17th March 2023

Children are invited to come in wearing home clothes, red if possible, in exchange for a donation to Comic Relief. To donate, please click here to be taken to the Just Giving page.

Fabulous Females – Friday 17th March 2023, drop in 1:30pm – 3:00pm

On Friday 17th March children can invite a special woman in their life into school for the afternoon. This could be their mum, nan, aunt, sister or special female friend. The lucky ladies will take part in an activity and spend time with their class.

FoHPS Coffee Morning – Tuesday 28th March 2023, 8:40am – 9:45am

On Tuesday 28th March the FoHPS Committee will be joining me for my termly Parent Coffee Morning. The FoHPS committee will be available to talk to about fundraising ideas and the future of FoHPS. More details will follow about this in due course.
