I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and enjoyed spending time with your families. I can’t quite believe we’re now at the start of the Summer Term already. I’m sure, like me, you’re all hoping the weather will soon realise that too!
Magic Show – Friday 3rd May, 3:45pm and 5:30pm
Tickets are selling fast for the upcoming Magic Show, organised by FoHPS and run by Professional Magician Simon Rosselli of ‘Amigo’s Magic’ and the world famous ‘Magic Circle’. Please remember children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are priced at £6 each and can be purchased on MCAS. There will also be opportunities to purchase food and drink, including alcohol.
Please see the attached colouring sheet competition for children to complete prior to the event. Completed sheets should be taken to the school office in advance for a chance to help the magician on stage. Paper copies are available at the school office on request.
Easter Panto – Beauty and the Beast at The Sinden Theatre, Tenterden
I’m pleased to report that Lylie, in Year 4, performed with confidence in the Easter Panto – Beauty and the Beast at The Sinden Theatre over the Easter break.

FoHPS Summer Fair – Saturday 8th June, 12pm – 4pm
In preparation for the summer fair and in keeping with tradition, we are kindly asking parents to donate certain items, such as toys, sweets and bottles, on certain weeks, starting on Monday 22nd April. Please see the attached flyer for details of what is needed and when.
Estate Agent Boards
We are looking for volunteers to have an estate agent board, advertising the Summer Fair, put up outside your house. If this is something you can help with please send an email to fohpsinfo@gmail.com with your name and address.
Academy name change – uniform
I’m sure you will remember me writing to parents in February to inform you that from September we will be known as Leigh Academy Horsmonden, not Horsmonden Primary Academy. Please see a reminder attached here.
All existing and pre-loved uniforms can continue to be worn next year but for anyone wishing to purchase a new uniform for the new year, orders placed with Brigade from 1st June will be embroidered with the new name. The deadline for ordering uniforms to be delivered to parents before the start of the new school year is 2nd August.
Attendance
Thank you to all parents for your support in ensuring children attend school every day and are on time. I am absolutely delighted that our year to date attendance is 96.2% compared to last year, where we ended on 95%
Our termly attendance certificates are clearly having an impact. Children are motivated by the certificates, are enjoying their learning and want to be here so they don’t miss out. Further evidence of this came through on the pupil survey completed last term.
Having said that, there are still a few families who are late regularly, which impacts on the children receiving their certificates. As a reminder, all children should arrive between 8:40am and 8:50am. Anyone arriving after that time is recorded as late.
