Parent Update (25th April 2023)

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter with your families and avoided the rain. Believe it or not, this is the Summer Term, even though the weather says otherwise! I am hoping it stays dry for our Maypole dancing on Tuesday.

Maypole

For those of you new to the school, there is a long tradition that Horsmonden children dance the Maypole on the village green to celebrate May Day. This year, Year 4 will be showing at least two Maypole dances at 2pm on Tuesday 2nd May and the whole school will attend to see the performance. Parents and members of the public are welcome to join us too.

Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla

As a school, we have decided to hold our coronation celebration event on Friday 12th May at 2pm and we warmly invite parents to attend. Providing the weather is good, we will hold the event on the field, similar to the Jubilee Celebration last year. Parents wishing to join us are welcome to bring camping chairs/blankets etc to watch the celebration.

Starfish Malawi

Following our visit from our Link Schools Coordinator, we have learned that our link school in Malawi, Chapita Primary, desperately needs soap, buckets and taps, which would cost around £500. To begin our fundraising efforts, the Horsmonden Huddle have suggested we hold a non school uniform day on Friday 19th May. Parents are welcome to make donations on MCAS of between £1.00 and £10.00. Money raised from this event will go straight to Chapita Primary and be put towards soap, buckets and taps.
