School closure update to parents

Dear Parents

I hope you are all well and that your families are keeping safe.

Thank you to everyone who has completed the parental survey so far. The feedback is very positive and shows we are moving in the right direction with our home learning offer.

As I’ve said before, this is such a hard time for everyone in so many different ways so to hear that we have your support at the moment is fantastic. I am extremely grateful to all the parents who have emailed in personally to say thank you and congratulate the teachers for their hard work and dedication. Hearing positive feedback such as this really spurs us on and confirms my thinking that we have a brilliant staff team at Horsmonden!

You will have heard by now from the Prime Minister that schools will be closed during half term for all children, including those that are vulnerable or those that have key worker parents. I’m sure you will have also heard that schools will not reopen until at least 8th March. This means we will be continuing to offer remote learning for a little longer.

I’m sure you feel the same as me and are eagerly awaiting schools reopening fully and I do empathise with you all, as homeschooling is not an easy job! For me personally, it is far easier to teach a class of 30 than my own children!  Having said this, I am impressed by the engagement we have seen from children this term, so thank you to parents for your perseverance at home.

As I receive further updates, I will let you know.

Kind Regards,

Hayley Sharp
